Plantarium 2016, August 24 - 27:

NL: Van Vliet New Plants is launching Newflix series

During the Plantarium 2016 trade show, the premiere of six new series of plants under the name Newflix will take place. This year Van Vliet New Plants will not only present novelties regarding one single plant variety, but at its booth will demonstrate that the plants are part of a series which can be even more interesting as a total package to growers and exporters. A special plant from the series will be selected as a novelty. This plant will be highlighted at the booth of Van Vliet New Plants.

Newflix Series
At this year's trade show booth, full attention will be devoted to the new series Potentilla, Buddleja, Coprosma, Cordyline Dance, Hebe and Hydrangea. The stars of the series are Buddleja davidii ‘Sophie’, Coprosma ‘Inferno’, Cordyline ‘Jive’, and Potentilla fruticosa ‘Bellissima’. They will be introduced as novelties at the Plantarium and will be presented for evaluation. The main focus of the series was to create nice additions and combinations. For example, the swinging line of Cordylines, which is available in six colours, and a rich collection of bushes with the name Coprosma; a plant which is also ideal as a potted plant.

Reinforcement of Van Vliet New Plants' team
As from July 1, Peter Kroes is co-director at Van Vliet New Plants. With his sound background in the area of garden and potted plants, indoor and outdoor plants, and management, Peter will take over part of the activities from Sander van Vliet. “A natural expansion within our company”, says Sander van Vliet. “Peter knows the trade and also has knowledge of cultivation under license and plant growers' rights; the core business of our company. We see great opportunities in our professional field and would like to focus more on them. That's why Peter is joining our team”.

“The Introduction of NEWFLIX is perfectly in line with the Plantarium theme 2016; Show It. This presentation of the series shows that more combinations can be made within the same plant group. With this series we would like to show the growers and traders that the combination will be a nice expansion to their selection”, says Peter Kroes. “It offers more opportunities to increase revenue for all parties in the chain and to serve the market even better. Consumers, our ultimate clients, indicate that they are looking for nice combinations to spice up their garden, terrace, and balcony. With the introduction of these six series we provide ideas for growers and traders and inspire them. Therefore, they can serve their clients better with new ideas whereby quality is key”.

Van Vliet New Plants noticed an increase in the demand for new and better outdoor plants and preferably grown under license. This trend can be seen in the Netherlands and globally. This is a welcome challenge for Van Vliet New Plants to further develop itself as a company. With their expertise in the area of plant growers' rights and plant licensing, they have gained a significant foothold in the horticultural world and wish to expand this market share further. Therefore, they are always looking for new growers and exporters to cultivate and market their plants.
