Dutch flower and plants sector looks for creative ideas
During a hackathon, teams are challenged to come up with innovative solutions within 24 hours for different challenges. Royal FloraHolland's challenge is: how do we stimulate consumers to buy more plants and flowers? The participants make use of data sources from e.g. Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the CoC, Google and others. At the end of the 24-h period, a jury determines what the best, most creative or most feasible solution is.
Collaborating on innovative solutions
Director of service provisions at the Chamber of Commerce, Jaap Docter, says, "It is wonderful to see how large organisations enthusiastically take up this initiative. The CoC wants to bring small companies and large organisations together so we can create innovative solutions that SMEs can build on. Our aim is that companies will jointly develop the innovative solutions further into concrete products and services. The expectations for the hackathon are high, and we are looking forward to it tremendously!"
IF Centre
The IF Centre is the central place within Royal FloraHolland and the horticultural sector, where innovation in the broadest sense will be stimulated and facilitated: the hotspot of innovation. Members, buyers, product groups, fellow specialists, chain parties, departments and programmes can come here to develop innovative ideas into concrete actions. The IF Centre then spreads this innovation and knowledge.
