India: Floriculture Department holds training program for farmers

With an aim to generate awareness among farmers regarding the cultivation of commercial floriculture crops, the Floriculture Department organized a district-level training programme on ‘Commercial Floriculture’ at Jakhani Park.

A large number of farmers and flower growers participated in the training programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director of Floriculture asked the farmers to take up commercial floriculture which will enable them to earn 4 to 5 times more profit as compared to other crops. He urged the farmers to cultivate Marigold, Cultivars, Pusa Narangi, Pusa Basanti and Gladiolus as cut flowers.

He further assured them that the department would provide good quality saplings to the farmers interested in floriculture and called upon them to come forward for availing the opportunities in this sector.
