LavieFlo's 'revolutionary' technique of preserving flowers

Roses. Rich and colourful, the fully-blossomed blooms captivate with their classy glory. But within days, the petals begin to wither. That's history now.

Founded in September 2012, LavieFlo claims to be the first company in the country to introduce natural flowers preserved using safe and revolutionary technology developed by horticulture experts. The company believes in telling the tales of real flowers in an everlasting fashion.

According to Ellen Loke, co-founder and brand director of LavieFlo, the unique selling point is that the entire preservation process is eco-friendly, human-safe and organic. "While the entire process is certified eco-friendly, all preserved flowers we bring in are free from any traces of alcohol, pollen and allergens. Even the fragrances come from selected 100 per cent organic pure essential oils."

During the preservation process, all components inside the flower are drained out. This includes protein, sugar particles and its colour pigments. Loke explains that the original colour of the fresh flower doesn’t really matter. “Once the extraction process is completed, the whole flower becomes transparent and the petals are extremely delicate,” she continues. That’s one of the main reasons why most preserved flower farms would plant flowering plants that are predominantly white, especially roses.
