Indian worshipers import flowers from Thailand

Offering flowers is something that one regularly does at temples and even at home. But some devotees of Goddess Mahakali walk an extra mile and make decorations with exotic flowers at the Mahakali temple in Pavagadh.

Prakash Rami is one such devotee from Mehsana who decorates on every full moon day and on the eighth day of Navratri. Rami, himself a florist, says this was his way of offering something to the goddess, who is also his 'kuldevi'. He uses flowers imported from Thailand for the purpose.

"We get flowers Antonium, Lilium and Orchids from Thailand for the decoration. Even exotic flowers from India are used in the arrangements," he said.
