US (PA): 'Christmas in Hawaii' at greenhouse in Oley

One of Berks County's long-standing Christmas traditions is in a greenhouse, run by a family that wraps a pretty unique gift to the community every year.

The Christmas Poinsettia Show at Glick's Greenhouse in Oley Township takes on a new theme each year. This year is 'Christmas in Hawaii.'

Mastermind Angela Izzo thought it was an organic choice.

"Poinsettias are tropical flowers. It's just like perfect," said Izzo.

"My uncle actually started it 38 years ago," said co-manager Joseph Glick. "He was in his greenhouse looking at it and just said, 'I wish more people could enjoy this.'"

The folks at Glick's Greenhouse said it's a debate whether you pronounce the flower 'point-setta' or 'point-settia.' Whatever you call them, they've grown 10,000 of them. Amazingly, they've managed to do so through a drought watch. Joseph Glick and his Uncle Dave, the owner, thought it could steal Christmas.
