Indian government helps growers increase sales

Commissioner for Horticulture Chiranjeevi Chowdary announced the launch of a website to enable nursery farmers of Kadiam to sell their plants online. He said works on the floriculture research centre and Central Crop Plantation Institute, sanctioned for Kadiam, would begin soon. He declared that the Indian Institute of Plantation Management will be set up in Vijayawada.

Addressing a workshop for nursery farmers at Girijala convention center at Kadiam, the horticulture commissioner advised the nursery farmers of Kadiam to enhance their revenue and offered to provide amenities to export plants.

The proposed Plantation Management Institute coming up at Vijayawada would offer courses like plantation, horticulture crops, agri-business and so on. He also said that a training programme in gardening would be provided for the youth to improve their employment prospects in government offices and nurseries.
