Netherlands overtakes Uganda for Kenyan goods purchases

The total amount of Kenyan goods purchased by Ugandan traders in January fell by Sh1bn (US$9.9mn), or 21.8%, from the previous year hitting Sh3.52bn ($34.9bn).

According to data released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, this places Uganda as the third highest buyer of Kenyan goods.

In the top two positions are Pakistan and the Netherlands – Pakistan places first for the second consecutive year, after it took Uganda’s position in 2017.

The Netherlands' orders rose by 10.38% year-on-year in January, reaching Sh4.19bn ($41.5mn) – predominantly pushed by cut flowers orders.
