"Hishtil introduces "RootOStix"

No more liner production thanks to rooted strip

The "RootOStix" stands for a rooted strip. It is based on Vissers' existing AutoStix system which has been launched recently, except for the fact that the cuttings have already been rooted. During Cultivate'18, that will be held from July 14-17 in Columbus (OH), USA, this product will be on display at Hishtil's booth.

The "RootOStix"™ product is also based on the alternatives needed in order to be able to export non-organic media propagation material to US nurseries.

This patent pending method has been tested by Hishtil's R&D department, both at a location in Israel and at key customers' production sites.

So, no need for rooting stations…..?
It will probably take some time until this will be the case for the whole industry but until then the idea is to offer customers who are about to operate AutoStix planting machines to transplant the "RootOStix"™ strip directly into the finished container - instead of needing to produce the liner.

Hishtil's GM Amit Dagan says that while the existing AutoStix idea can potentially help to transfer the manual work from the rooting stations (sticking) backwards to the mother stock production, the "RootOStix"™ product would allow companies to skip a whole station in the value chain and improve their profitability.

Hishtil's R&D department has already started to work on the next generation of the "RootOStix"™ product which will be based on a sustainable, clean and robust product that could offer benefits and easily be adopted by finishers.
