One Step At A Time – after dinner speech at Cultivating Retail

Telling his compelling, uplifting and honest story, James Golding is to be the record holding, inspirational after dinner speaker at Cultivating Retail.

Jointly hosted by HTA and GIMA, Cultivating Retail takes place on Tuesday 13 November 2018 at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham. This new one day event and dinner for retailers, growers and suppliers that will tackle the key issues and opportunities facing the garden retail supply chain, supported by Gold Partner, Evergreen Garden Care UK.



In his after dinner speech, James will move and inspire the guests of Cultivating Retail with his story ‘One Step At A Time’. In just 9 years he has survived cancer twice, had less than 5% chance of survival, re-learnt to walk, been hit by a truck riding across the United States, had two children he was told would never happen, raised over £3 million for Cancer Charities and is now a Guinness Seven Day Cycling World Record holder after riding 1,766 miles. He puts his achievements down to teamwork and the people around him, breaking goals down and taking them ‘One Step At A Time’.

The conference programme is split into four themed sections:
  • Know your customer – The latest updates on consumer behaviour, shopping psychology and understanding your customer.
  • Business inspiration and the environment – Ideas and innovation from inside and outside the industry including a topical panel session on plastics in horticulture.
  • Optimising the retailer/supplier relationship - Is your supply chain millennial ready? Plus, a head to head panel.
  • Promoting your business – Innovative and experiential retail, future technology – mobile advertising and brand strategy.
The dinner will also include the presentation of the HTA Pearson Medal and supports Charity Partner, Greenfingers.
