"Summer Breeze Rose both looks and tastes good"

This spring ABZ Seeds introduced the new strawberry Summer Breeze Rose and from day 1 it received a lot of attention. The reason is that the plant combines decorative qualities with an excellent flavor. "The consumer can therefore enjoy it twice," says Gé Bentvelsen, director ABZ Seeds. "In addition, it is a double-flowered variety and the flowers, which are twisted away from small roses, remain for a very long time."

ABZ is already enjoying attention from all corners of the world, including countries like Japan, Australia and America. This interest is probably also based on the promise to give the plant a few siblings. "We are working hard on a Summer Breeze Rose in white and light pink. We want to introduce this next year and then we'll have a real series."

In the Netherlands, greenhouse strawberry cultivation has grown rapidly lately. After tomato, pepper and cucumber it is now the fourth crop under glass with more than 350 hectares. ABZ Seeds offers different varieties for traditional cultivation, but with the Summer Breeze and other varieties also has a number of trump cards for the plant market. This segment, where the consumer can pick tasty strawberries from their own windowsill, is on the rise as well.
