UK: Waitrose offers mystery bouquets to shoppers

Waitrose & Partners is launching a new online flower delivery service giving shoppers the option to add a mystery bouquet of flowers to their grocery order on Waitrose.com.

The box of flowers will be delivered alongside customers' groceries. Each bouquet (£15) offers an element of surprise; customers will add a ‘box of flowers’ to their online delivery, yet the type of flowers they receive remains a surprise until they arrive.

Customers can expect seasonal blooms chosen by experts to ensure their vases are up to date and in line with the latest floral trends and colours for the season. This may include sunflowers and peonies in the summer months, lilies and roses in the autumn and hyacinths and tulips in the spring.

This new service will be trialled for online deliveries within the London area, with plans to roll out to further regions.

Lucy Matthewson, horticulture buyer at Waitrose & Partners, says: “We’re really excited to introduce this service to our online shoppers. The element of surprise is something really fun and we hope our shoppers enjoy treating themselves to a beautiful bouquet for their home."
