The Taichung World Flora Expo 2018 entitled ‘The Sound of Blooming’ has launched a declaration which gives GNP (Gross National Product) a brand-new definition. Instead of an economic indicator, GNP will represent a measure of Taichung’s efforts to achieve Green productivity and improvements in Nature Sustainability and empowerment of People. This new GNP is presented in three exhibition areas of the Taichung World Flora Expo in Chinese Taipei by upholding the design concept of ‘No Destruction, Just Optimization’.
The declaration is a public acknowledgement from Taichung of their responsibility to the global community to strive for green cities, green economies and green productivity and provides an encouraging model for other cities to follow.
The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) fully supports the Taichung declaration and believes it presents a model for Expos and Greening to the rest of the world. Central to the theme of the Taichung Expo is allowing visitors to reconnect with nature for the wellbeing of the individual as well as the global community as a whole. The visitor experience offers the opportunity for reconnecting with Mother Nature, hearing the whisper of colourful blossoming flowers and realising the joy of life and how each life contributes to make the world prettier.
With time and effort Taichung believes prosperity will come to coexist with environmental protection; that nature can be embedded with technological advancements and people will come to live with Greenability.
The Taichung World Flora Expo will open on 3rd November 2018. For more information visit: https://2018floraexpo.tw/En
