Mordovia aims to become Russia's biggest rose exporter

In October, the head of Mordovia, Mr. Vladimir Volkov took part in the festive opening of their new greenhouse for growing roses in the village of Kadoshkino (Russia).

Mr. Volkov congratulated the employees with the launch and rewarded those who showed special commitment.

The head of Mordovia made a tour around the greenhouse and cut the symbolic 220 millionth rose, grown in the enterprise.

The project started in 2007. At the moment, 5 greenhouses have been constructed, 40 varieties of roses are grown on an acreage of 15 ha. The enterprise will grow 34 million roses this year. With the launch of the new complex, the projected crop yield that will be achieved in 2019, will amount to 40 million roses a year. The complex would thus become the biggest and most productive rose grower in Russia.

The project was carried out with governmental support and the involvement of several banks.

The main equipment supplier is Dutch company Dalsem. It is expected that next year, when the full projected capacity is reached, the enterprise will take 15% of the market share among rose growers in Russia.

In 2016 and 2017, the existing complexes were renovated and the seedlings were replaced, which enhanced productivity and improved the quality of roses. All in all, since its opening the enterprise has grown 220 million roses. Over 100 thousand roses are cut here daily.

The investment volume amounted to 8.445 million euros, and 55 employment positions were created.

The produce is sold in every second federal district as well as in the Republic of Belarus.
