Pakistan urged to develop floriculture as an industry

Pakistan should develop floriculture into a full-fledged industry to export exotic varieties of flowers in addition to attracting tourists to visit innovative flower orchards in diversified and scenic environments of the blessed country.

This was stated by a floriculturist from Indian-held Kashmir Javed Ahmad Shah while addressing a meeting of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Standing Committee on Agri-tourism and Civic Problems.

The visitor owns a big orchard of tulips in the picturesque city of Sri Nagar.

He told the audience that he exports colorful tulips to the European markets where the Asian varieties were in great demand.
