Turkey: Winter production of flowers has started in Igdir municipality’s greenhouses

The project to grow flowers for Igdir municipality has moved to its winter production phase after completion of the spring production. The project, named “Blossoming Flowers of Igdir” has been carried out by Igdir Agricultural Office since 2017. Igdir is located in southeastern Turkey and the municipality has been growing flowers in its 500 square meter greenhouse to use in the city’s green areas.

Currently 15,000 winter flower seedlings are grown in the greenhouse and the municipality is hoping that this greenhouse will set an example for growers and entrepreneurs in the city to start with flower production in greenhouses.
