A look at South Korea’s largest greenhouse

In Seoul, South Korea, Seoul Botanic Park has temporarily opened its doors for a six-month trial on 11 October. Estimated to be as large as 70 soccer fields, the 504,000 sq m park compromises of several gardens, a small forest, a lake and a greenhouse. Located near Magongnaru Station, it is the first park of that size in the Gangseo district of Seoul.

Eight storeys high and protected by a special glass-like plastic, the greenhouse is the largest ever to be built in the country. The greenhouse is home to roughly 3100 types of plants and divided into two main climates, humid and arid. For now, the lotus pond in the humid section and the cacti in the arid section remain two of the more popular attractions.
