Turkey: Cut flower and ornamental plant export figures according to export destination

According to the figures announced by Ornamental Plants Exporters Association, Turkish ornamental plant and cut flower exports have increased by 25 % compared to previous year within the first 10 months of 2018. The Netherlands was the top export destination, followed by Uzbekistan, United Kingdom, Germany, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Romania and United States.

Istanbul has recently hosted Eurasia Plant Fair / Flower Show and a lot of prominent stakeholders in the industry attended the fair.
Growers Association Chairman Ahmet Dundar has emphasized that if municipalities use domestic products instead of imported products in their parks and green areas, it would contribute significantly to the sector.

Cut flower and ornamental plant exports to the Netherlands have increased by 32% compared to the first 10 months of 2017 and export volume has reached 20.3 million USD. Exports to Uzbekistan have increased by 56%. Furthermore exports to United Kingdom and Germany have increased by 8%. The export value in total has increased by 29%. Ornamental plant exports amounted to 47.5 million USD whereas cut flower exports have improved by 22% to 28.7 million USD.
