Alan “Buddy” Jacobson, the former president and chairman of Jacobson Floral Supply in Boston, died Nov. 29. He was 87 years old.
Jacobson joined the now 75-year-old family business in 1955 after earning his business degree in marketing from Boston University and completing military training with the Army. During his long. distinguished career, he was credited with many company innovations and was active in many industry groups, including the Society of American Florists and the Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association, which awarded him the organization’s highest honor, the Leland T. Kintzele Distinguished Service Award, in 2010.
