Rianne de Baar, Aqua D&S:

"By adding a vibrating screen, the cloth filter lasts longer"

From 1 January 2018, growers in the Netherlands are no longer permitted to discharge water from the greenhouse to surface water; they have to come up with solutions to reuse the water. Aqua D & S developed one of these solutions with the filtration tower. By combining a vibrating screen and a cloth filter, the cloth filter lasts longer.

Rianne de Baar: "Our cloth filter is now in use by both vegetable growers and flower growers. The cloth, varying from 50, 20, 5 or 1 micron, can be adjusted, upon request, to a capacity of 7, 14, 21 or 28 m3 per hour. If a grower does not filter a lot of dirty water, the cloth filter suffices. But if the wastewater also contains a lot of sand or leaves, a lot of cloth is used. In that case the use of a vibrating screen might be considered. By placing the vibrating screen in front of the cloth filter, most of the dirt is extracted, so that the cloth filter lasts longer."

..And here a video of the vibrating screen.

"The filtration tower is complete. The screen deck can never tear because it is entirely glued to a perforated plate. The vibrating screen is adjustable. It can be adjusted in such a way that the filtered material leaves the vibrating screen either wet or very dry."

The filtration tower consists of a SAE 304 or 316 frame and two double-walled polypropylene bins that collect the water after the vibrating screen and the cloth filter. The vibrating screen of 150, 100 or 75 micron filters with a capacity of 28 m3 per hour. "All the waste water, no matter how dirty it may be, can be pumped onto the vibrating screen. Once the water has passed through both filters, it can be pumped, if necessary, directly to ultraviolet or ultra-filtration for disinfection."
