UK: Herbaceous Perennials Technical Discussion Group Winter meeting

The next Herbaceous Perennials workshop is aimed at supervisors, team leaders and those who are about to transition into the role.

Building on the staff training and retention presentation delivered by Tess Howe, AHDB to the Group in 2018, the winter event for 2019 focuses on supervisory skills.

Delivered by Alistair Gibb of Cedar Associates the full day interactive workshop covers the key skills to get work done efficiently through others. The objective of the training is to develop participants to be better able to:

  • Plan and prepare for a smooth running day that achieves targets and objectives
  • Manage time to increase effectiveness of the team
  • Use the appropriate styles of leadership to manage change effectively
  • Motivate teams and deal with any issues arising in the team assertively

To optimise the benefit of the course, the maximum number of delegates for the event will be 12, spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and preference will be given to supervisors and team leaders from nursery businesses.
