Red, yellow, crimson. The tulips on this flower bed have bloomed specifically for the ones who are in love. The associates of Gorzelenstroy are preparing bouquets for February 14. The flowers are carefully selected. For instance, only closed buds are accepted, the flowers should not open until they are placed in the vase.
“The best characteristic of a fresh cut flower is a specific crunchy sound, produced by the green part”, says the supervisor of the complex, Ms. Larisa Kostish. There are about 2 thousand tulips here. The rest are expected to be ready for March 8.
“Here there are 60 thousand future tulips. At the moment, every plant is no more than 10 centimeters long, but they will bloom for International Women’s Day. By the way, reinforcement is expected this year; the growers have planted a new tulip variety. It is called Ronaldo and no one yet knows how it will look like. It is well-known though, that the variety is of the most recent tulip generation. Apart from tulips, 5 varieties of daffodils will be ready for International Women’s Day. Novelties are expected in the field of hyacinths too.
“Usually we produce only three colors for International Women’s Day: white, blue and pink, they are in highest demand. However, this year we are growing white and yellow crocuses and yellow hyacinths”, shares Ms. Larisa Kostish.
The tulip bouquets for Valentine’s Day are already being delivered to flower shops.
