Bower & Branch, the e-commerce brand consisting of a network of independent growers and garden centers across the United States, expanded their grower network with the addition of Oregon Pride Nurseries in McMinnville, Oregon.
“Bower & Branch has a great grower network already,” said Bower & Branch Grower Relationship Manager, Jeff Thompson, “and Oregon Pride is an excellent grower in all aspects. They grow an outstanding specialty conifer line that brings both quality and selection to the Bower & Branch product line. They are in the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s GAIP (Grower Assisted Inspection Program). They are also in the SANC (Systems Approach to Nursery Certification) Program. These are just two examples of how they strive for excellence in every aspect of their operation.”
Frustrated that independents were being left behind, Mark Van Hoef and his wife, Carolyn, started Oregon Pride Nurseries in 1989, and they have been committed to independent garden centers ever since.
“We’re not an e-commerce company,” he said. “We were slow to move at first. But Bower & Branch definitely has something that we want to be a part of. This is the buying habit of the future, and it’s new and exciting!”
Oregon Pride Nurseries is Bower & Branch’s sixth network grower along with Eaton Farms, Decker’s Nursery, Natorp’s, Rusty Oak Nursery, and Woodburn Nursery & Azaleas, which is also located in Oregon.
“Oregon Pride produces top quality plants, which is why they are well-known throughout the industry and have a far reaching customer base,” said Adam Brown, Sales Manager at Decker’s Nursery. “The addition of Oregon Pride to the already unprecedented network of retail, wholesale, supply, marketing, and distribution of Bower & Branch will help push the change of how our industry does business. We are happy to welcome Oregon Pride into the Bower & Branch family!”
