US (CA): Second annual “American Tulip Day” brings pop-up garden with 100,000 tulips

Sun Valley Floral Farms based in Arcata, California has partnered with Dutch tulip trade organization iBulb to bring a pop-up garden of 100,000 tulips, still on the bulb, to Union Square in downtown San Francisco, on Saturday, March 2nd 2019.

The garden will be free to the public and each visitor will be allowed to pick their own tulips.

The garden will be open to the Press/Media at 12 noon, and then to the public at 1 pm.

Last year’s event saw 100,000 tulips being picked in about 3.5 hours.

This event comes six days before International Women’s Day which is Friday, March 8th. Spring flowers are a traditional gift at International Women’s Day and tulips grown in the USA are the classic spring flower.
