UK: New Hebes arriving in garden centres

Two new Hebes, from The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, will be arriving in British garden centres over the next few weeks.

Hebe ‘Starlight’, available in garden centres now, is a new introduction, bred by Seiont Nurseries, and jointly launched by Bransford Webbs for 2019. This Hebe has cream and green foliage all year round, with white flowers appearing in summer, attracting bees to the garden. This Hebe prefers full sun or partial shade, in well-drained soil. Growing to a height and spread of approx. 1m x 1m, it requires very little maintenance, just a light prune following flowering. Available at all good garden centres, 2L RRP £9.99.

Hot on the heels of this variety, comes Hebe ‘Mint Chocolate’ from breeders Tully Nurseries and exclusive to Bransford Webbs in the UK. This will be available from the Tillington Garden Centre Group (www.tillington.co.uk) from early March, RRP £9.99. Foliage offers year-round interest to the garden, whilst the flowers will attract bees. Hebe ‘Mint Chocolate’ will grow to approx. 75cm x 75cm. Preferring a sunny spot, with well-drained soil, it requires little maintenance, just a simple trim after flowering.
