Due to Women’s Day at March, 8th 5 million USD worth of cut flowers were exported from Turkey.
Mid-Anatolian Ornamental Plants Exporters Association President Ismail Yilmaz: “Our growers have exported around 35 million stems of flowers for Women’s Day and received approximately 5 million USD for their products. The top export destinations for this particular day were Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria.
Around 70 % of the Turkish cut flower exports are coming from Antalya and our growers produce over 100 varieties in total. However the main export product is carnations. In addition to exports, about 17 million stems are sold in local market and the activity in the market is a result of the upcoming municipal election at the end of March.
