Russia: Tulip greenhouse in Smolensk taking shape

The first part of a greenhouse complex project with overall investments amounting to more than 700,000 USD has been completed in the Smolensk region, reported the regional administration. A part of a major greenhouse complex including two greenhouses with an overall acreage of 1000 square meters was constructed in the village Starye Bateky.

Production capacity is expected to reach 1 million tulips per year. Planting material is purchased in the Netherlands.

The producers will be supplying 12 varieties of tulips to trade chains in the Smolensk region and to the neighboring Republic of Belarus.
