Geum Tempo Rose by Terra Nova Nurseries

Re-blooming perennial keeps pollinators coming back for more

"Blooming" might be the word that characterizes Terra Nova's new perennial Geum Tempo Rose. "It blooms early, for a long time and even re-blooms", explains Chuck Pavlich, director of new product development with Terra Nova Nurseries.

This new variety will be officially introduced on Wednesday, March 27, but visitors of the California Spring Trials are able to get a sneak-peek of Terra Nova’s new perennial.

Long blooming
All in all, The Geum Tempo Rose has a long blooming period. "It already begins to show flowers in April and blooms till June. And during this period, it re-blooms, allowing pollinators to enjoy for an extended period of time."

Terra Nova Nurseries has high expectations for the demand of this variety. “Geum Tempo Rose is not only a pollinator attractor but is also deer resistant and works well as a border or in a mixed bed. It also has a plethora of dark, rose-pink flowers and attractive foliage, even in the summer.”

Compact growth
The variety is fast-growing and its finish time to 4” is 4-6 weeks. "The full-sun variety is an easy-to-grow plant and has a naturally compact habit without floppy flower stems. It also does not need any Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs)."
