Piet Oudolf to speak at Perennial Plant Association symposium

At the Tuesday Symposium Education of the Perennial Plant Association, they have a very special speaker coming this year: Piet Oudolf.

Piet Oudolf started his landscape and garden design practice with his wife Anja in 1976 in Haarlem. In 1982, they moved to Hummelo in the eastern part of the Netherlands to start a nursery growing rare, hard to find, and unusual but garden worthy perennials. The nursery was mainly run by Anja while Piet’s work became well-known by the more radical ideas shown in publications about the Hummelo garden.

The 2019 Perennial Plant Association National Symposium is in conjunction with All-America Selections and National Garden Bureau. The “Core Symposium” includes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and features two days of education, 3 tour options on Wednesday, and two dinners at Chicago gardens.
