Ireland: JZ Flowers signs €70m flower supply deal with Aldi

JZ Flowers and Aldi Ireland have agreed a new €70m deal that will see the Co-Kildare based company provide 33 million fresh flower stems to Aldi stores around the country.

Aldi sold almost 4.2 million bouquets last year and is the country's biggest retailer of fresh cut flowers, with one in four flower stems sold in Ireland purchased from Aldi.

The new five year deal is the culmination of a significant expansion for JZ Flowers, which recently opened a new €1.3m packing facility in Naas in Co Kildare.

JZ Flowers and Aldi Ireland have partnered since 1999, with JZ initially supplying Aldi's Irish stores from its original production facility in the UK.
