As of the 1st of March Geurt Heimensen is the new manager of Wageningen Academy.
"My name is Geurt Heimensen (47) and I have been working for Wageningen University & Research for almost twenty years. During this period I gained valuable experience at several departments, which are now known as the Plant Sciences Group, Wageningen Food & Biobased Research and the Animal Sciences Group. The last couple of years I have had the honour to work, together with another project leader, on the development and organization of all WUR 100 years festivities. A very special and unique experience. This project has almost come to an end and I am very excited to start with this great new challenge."
"Wageningen Academy already offers multiple education options for professionals. The first steps have been made with Executive Education, online learning and interactive learning environment, but there is also room for improvement. Therefore I am very much looking forward to work with the Wageningen Academy team, WUR stakeholders and the Food & Agribusiness to shape the education of professionals."
