Plant breeder revealing a new race of buttercup at Malvern Festival

An exciting new race of Persian buttercup, Ranunculus asiaticus, will be unveiled at this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival (May 9-12). It’s exciting because the Rococo series is hardy, weather-resistant and adaptable, for use either as a border perennial or a cut flower. Supermarket chains have also spotted the latter ­potential, and Rococo is expected to be for sale in bunches soon.
