The companies BellaRosa and Rose Connection received a recognition for their work, compromise and dedication in the floriculture sector, in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility (Human Transcendence), bestowed by the National Association of Flower Producers and Exporters of Ecuador Expoflores, which was given in the event "FlorEcuador 2019" held in April of this year.
In order to achieve this award, the companies postulated their Corporate Social Responsibility project "OHSAS 18001", achieving this award as a distinction of the work they make in favor the wellness and care of their most important resource, their collaborators.
Both companies are located in Tabacundo and have a trajectory in the international market of 23 and 18 years respectively, a big part of its success and growth is due to the commitment with their people, expressed in the daily work.
Development of the project
"On 2011, “Sistema de Gestión Ecuador” was born, with its legal compliance document CD.333 SART (Sistema de Auditorías de Riesgos del Trabajo – Work Risk Audit System), for that reason, our companies adopt that legal guidelines, proceed its management in this area and working on making conscience with all people that were involved in the activity of companies. In 2014, after 3 years of working in the prevention branch, the Occupational Health and Safety Department is consolidated, conformed by a team of competent and high-level professionals (Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Chief, Occupational Physician, Nurse, Physiotherapist and Assistant of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment), giving most relevance to that management and defining a cycle of continuous improvement."
"Although “SART” was repealed on 2016, our companies decided to follow the line of evolution of the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, searching a stronger alternative in this field, that’s why the implementation of the OHSAS 18001 System started, which is an international standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. System to which high standards organizations bet to demonstrate and achieve an optimal performance, controlling risks, ensuring the commitment of its statecraft and reaching all the outlined objectives."
"After two years of hard work in the implementation of the Management System, Bella Rosa and Rose Connection obtain their certificates on August and October of 2018 respectively, under the International Certifier (Bureau Veritas). With this certification, the companies take on challenges of continuous improvement for the management of Occupational Health and Safety, and in the objective of reduce work related accidents and deceases, overall as a commitment based in the phrase: "Activities may change, the risks may vary, but prevention must be a motto that has to be maintained over time" (Soledad Araujo)."
