The Perennial Expo @ Walters Gardens will begin with keynote speaker Tony Avent. Tony is a seasoned hybridizer, plant collector, and owner of Plant Delights Nursery, a mail order company specializing in unique and interesting perennials.
Tony has spent decades traveling the globe on botanizing trips in search of rare and unique plants. His collection has amounted to the Juniper Level Botanical Garden, where visitors can see almost 25,000 varieties of plants, and Plant Delights Nursery, a company with the reputation of offering some of the rarest and truly one-of-a-kind plants.
Following the keynote presentation, guests will be divided into breakout sessions with a walking tour of new perennials, Proven Winners Marketing efforts, and a focused presentation on perennial production. New this year will be an extended lunch in the Display Gardens, serviced by local food trucks, with time allotted for self guided tours. After breakout sessions, there will be focused choose your own workshops (to be announced the day of) led by various Walters Gardens staff. The day will conclude with the option of facility tours or refreshments in the Display Gardens.
