July 7-10, Las Vegas

AIFD releases "Blooms Over Las Vegas"

This July, Catholic Charities' Meals on Wheels and Nevada Senior Services in Las Vegas, Nev. are just two of the organizations that will be in for a cheerful surprise when members of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) presents them with a floral gift July 7 - 10. As part of the “Blooms Over Las Vegas” event, volunteers of the floral industry’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the art of floral design will create amazing fresh floral creations and share their special floral therapy with select residents of Las Vegas. This event is part of AIFD's National Symposium "Awaken" being held in Las Vegas July 6 - 11.

“Based on research, receiving flowers has an immediate and lasting effect on a person’s emotional wellbeing. We want to 'Awaken' those feelings in our Las Vegas residents,” said Connie Jo Harris AIFD, CFD “Blooms Over Las Vegas” chairman.

The "Blooms Over" Program was started by Kirk Pamper AIFD in 1993. Kirk wanted to see the flowers used in the Symposium programs have a second life and brighten the day of people in need. Each year since 1993 the "Blooms Over" program has been a part of the AIFD National Symposium. While the program is unique each year in its organization, designs and recipients, "Blooms Over" still achieves the original purpose "to give flowers a second life and brighten the day for people in need."

AIFD Symposium is an annual event where floral designers from all over the world gather to share the latest trends in floral design. Symposium features floral design education programs presented by industry experts, networking events and exclusive social events. Registration is open to all floral industry professionals.
