Walberton Nursery, part of Tristram Plants and The Farplants Group, will be opening its doors on 9th June 2019 to participate in LEAF Open Farm Sunday. Over 1000 farmers and horticultural enterprises across the UK have opened their doors since the event first started in 2006, as a way for local communities to discover first-hand what it means to work in our industry.
Walberton’s event is designed to give members of the public a behind the scenes look into how over 1 million plants a year are grown on our site for the UK Garden Centre market. The Farplants Group as a whole, sell around 11 million plants per year, and other members of the cooperative will be hosting Open Farm events in future years.
The event runs from 11:00 to 15:00. Refreshments and home baked cakes will be available, as well as a plant sale, guided tours and a family-friendly pot your own plant area.
Car parking will be available on site, but the event will be cancelled in the case of persistent, heavy rain.
