The Sun creates the biggest flower show display Britain has ever seen to mark our 50th birthday

Our gardening expert Peter Seabrook has created a 30ft display with 4,000 blooms. Peter, 83, said: “It’s unique.”

The SunBelievable exhibit is at the BBC Gardeners’ World Live show in Birmingham this weekend. It will then be replanted at Hyde Hall in Chelmsford, Essex.

There are almost 100 of these new plant varieties in the SunBelievable display, which is more than double what were out at the whole of the Chelsea Flower Show.

Peter, 83, who has written a gardening column for The Sun for over four decades, said: “I think it’s probably the biggest floral display ever shown at a UK flower show.

“It’s over 30ft tall, it’s steep and it took three of us over two days to lay the thousands of flowers out.”
