The horticulture clusters Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys are going to cooperate intensively. To this purpose, Greenport and the French horticulture cluster have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Greenport West-Holland is the regional network organisation of the government, industry, educational and knowledge institutions. Together they work towards a vital and sustainable future for the regional horticulture cluster. Végépolys is a horticulture cluster on the west coast of France and is aimed at innovative cooperation between companies, research centers, and educational organizations.
Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys are already cooperating in a number of fields, such as within the European project TRACK, which is aimed at the application of big data in the agricultural food sector. Moreover, Greenport West-Holland organized the annual meeting of the Plant InterCluster (PIC), the cooperation of French horticulture clusters of which Végépolys is a member.
During the PIC meeting, Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys signed a cooperation agreement. Both clusters have agreed upon working together to connect and speed up innovation in the horticulture sector, for example by participating in joint propositions of national and international project groups. They will also organize mutual meetings and will focus together on creating a European network of horticulture clusters.
