End of August, the calluna season will take off and just in time for this season, calluna breeder Heidezüchtung Kurt Kramer has extended the Gardengirls by two lines; Rasta Girls and Sunset-Girls.
RASTA GIRLS
Rasta Girls
The "bud-bloomers" with hanging shoots have been an important feature of the Gardengirls assortment for 15 years. "This group is currently gaining in importance in retail outlets across Europe, particularly in Italy", says Rudolf Sterkel, Sales and Marketing Manager at the company. Therefore, and to celebrate their 15th birthday, they summarize all five varieties of this group and give her the name Rasta Girls. Matching this they have developed a logo and a label. "These cute looking varieties have long, hanging stems with a dense population of buds in white, pink, red and violet. They can be combined with the upright Gardengirls varieties in larger containers or planted in larger, deep planters (to avoid the stems touching the grounds) or hanging baskets."
Label SUNSET-GIRLS®
Sunset-Girls
The other line is Sunset-Girls. "This line is the best suited for sales at the end of the season." The colors in this line range from a green to a yellow or orange to silver and almost black. "The Sunset-Girls bring the beautiful memories of a sunset at the beach to your garden. They can extend the season until Christmas or even in the spring. Heather (Erica x darleyensis) or Snow Heather (Erica carnea) to get a better splash. The advantage of using the spring flowering species is that they are excellent sources of energy for pollinating insects."
