“The sunflower is mine, in a way.”
“Rustic sunflowers symbolize gratitude.”
Quotes from the iconic painter Vincent Van Gogh in letters to his brother Theo and sister Willemien.
The sunflower connects Takii with the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam. For 4 years now, Takii has been a proud partner of the renowned museum. This great partnership has led to many joint activities. We have learned so much about Vincent van Gogh’s work, extraordinary life and intellectual legacy. Even more than 100 years after his death, he inspired us to spread his message through our Sunflower marketing concept: ‘Sunrich – van Gogh’s Favorite’.

It is a unique co-branding concept between the Van Gogh Museum and Takii’s sunflower brand Sunrich. With this concept, we spread the heartwarming and authentic message of love, hope and friendship, inspired by the remarkable life and work of Vincent van Gogh. The concept is ideal for wholesalers, florists and (online) retailers who want to create a distinctive and substantive marketing campaign around sunflowers with unique content.
This summer, the ’Sunrich – Van Gogh’s Favorite‘ campaign is all about ’friendship‘. Like the friendship, Van Gogh had with the other painter Paul Gauguin. On June 21st, 1,000 Sunrich sunflowers were handed out to passers-by around the Van Gogh Museum. This time they were encouraged to give this sunflower to a loved one as a token of friendship. It was an unforgettable afternoon full of joy and stories about friendship. A special video about this will follow soon.
At the same time, the Van Gogh Museum opened its latest summer exhibition: ’Van Gogh and the Sunflowers’. The exhibition shows the interesting history of the well-known sunflower painting and the significance this specific flower had for Van Gogh. It can be seen until 1 September 2019.
Again this demonstrates the power of Sunflowers and the unbelievable potential flowers have to express emotions or friendships. As Takii we have a strong belief in the marketing concept ‘Sunrich – Van Gogh’s Favorite’ – which brings this all together. We do realize that this concept is innovative, ’out of the box’ and new for our industry. It requires courage to make it happen. In order to bring it to the next level, we are searching for additional partners in the chain from breeder to the final consumer. The concept brings great benefits for all partners involved.
So herewith a call to potential new partners to join: who dares to participate and contribute to this? As Van Gogh wrote:
“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything.”
