On Saturday, July 13, 2019, around 3:30 pm the fire brigade had to spring into action in building D of the Landgard Lüllingen location. A smoldering fire, which had broken out in two office rooms on the second floor of the building, was quickly quenched.
Thanks to the prudent behavior of the Landgard employees and the correct use of the Geldern fire brigade, only material damage was incurred, employees and residents were never in danger. The clean-up work is ongoing, investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing. At the weekend, producer cooperative Landgard had also immediately taken appropriate measures, so that work could start without much trouble on Monday.
"We would like to take this opportunity to once again express our sincere thanks not only to the volunteers of the Geldern fire brigade, but above all to our employees who were there on the day of the fire. Thanks to their quick reaction and prudent behavior in the face of the fire, it was possible to prevent worse things happening," said Johannes Kronenberg, Managing Director of Landgard Blumen & Pflanzen GmbH, based in Lüllingen.
