The city of Ordu wants to become a production center for cut flower production in Turkey

Ordu municipality is looking to increase economic activity and create more revenue sources for its inhabitants and cut flower production is one of their main focus areas. The city is located in the northern region of the country and the municipality has recently sent a delegation to visit greenhouses in Yalova, Izmir, and Tokat.

The delegation of engineers and other technical staff is tasked with receiving as much information as possible about cut flower and ornamental plant production. The delegation has also received information about the organization of cooperatives for sales and marketing activities of the products.

After the completion of the visits, the team will prepare a comprehensive report including where the greenhouses need to be built with which specifications and equipment. Additionally, the report will also include a recommendation list for products which were deemed most suitable to grow in the climate conditions of the city.
