An Orchid Park is being developed by the Horticulture Department on about 100 acres of land in Chhindwara district. Poly Houses will be developed by youth in this park. Land has already been earmarked for the park. Floriculture in this park will give a new identity to Chhindwara district.
Under the scheme, land will be given on lease to farmers and floriculture training will also be imparted to them. Mainly, Rose, Rajnigandha and Jarvera flowers, etc. will be grown in the park and Nagpur city will be the nearest sales centre. In the future after an increase in production, efforts will be made to export flowers abroad.
In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister Kamal Nath, the Horticulture Department has initiated an action for allotment of 100 acres of land in Kohat Raiyat. Recently, a study tour has also been conducted by the delegation of the Government of India to explore the possibility of cashew nut farming in Chhindwara district.
Along with conventional farming, efforts are being made for necessary arrangements for fruits and dry fruits farming in the district.
