With the now 16,000 m2 of acclimatized cooling rooms, IPHandlers is truly one of the largest players in the handling of flowers, plants and other fresh products in international air freight traffic. An important part of the trade that passes through the halls of this ‘Amsterdam Perishable Center’ is destined for the Eastern European and Russian market, and with more than thirteen different nationalities in house, the company itself has become a truly international company.
The extra 6,000 m2 is needed to cope with the growing transport flows. "Things have been going so fast in recent years!" Says Mark Loos, owner of the company. “In order to be able to continue to serve our customers at the highest quality level, we had to take the steps that we have taken. We need the extra capacity to handle everything also at peak times. ”
The extension of 500 m2 to 1,500 m2 of offices is for our own employees, but also for our customers. “We've all arranged it so that the layout is flexible. We can flexibly deploy the use of the spaces and arrange them according to the changes that constantly occur in the market. We will mainly rent out the flexible spaces to our customers, so that they can work ‘on location’ here. This is important because in addition to the administrative work, people often want to follow the product themselves to provide services. This is possible for longer or short periods, such as in a certain season or just with a large order or holiday."
“We are substantially expanding our cold stores and warehouse by 6,000 m2 to 16,000 m2 and at the same time, we remain efficient and at the same location. This greatly increases our flexibility and level of service for our customers. Our location is very central, next to Schiphol and next to the auction, and we really wanted to keep it that way. That we have literally been able to expand across the street is really ideal.”
