The larger the diameter of the tank, the lower the tank will be. This was the principle in the world of water silos. It had everything to do with the water pressure becoming too high. However, with current technology, the improved quality of steel, and improved technical calculations, it is possible to reach heights of more than 6 meter Bas van der Elst: "A silo used to be maximally 4.62 meter high. We can supply all standard diameters with a height of 5.32 meter and up to 8 meters in various diameters. Silos with a diameter of 40 are not even exceptional anymore."

Not only the steel, also the liners sealing the silos have been improved and are much stronger now. "A lot of PVC/LDPE foil was used before. Due to the weight pressing on the liner when the silo is empty, a lot of pressure was exercised on the foil, stretching and thinning it. With the current Delaflex, this is no longer a problem. The material is so strong it can deal with any height. The tests have shown that it can resist very high mechanical taxation and also the well-known damage due to wind." Bas: "The DelafleX is suited for storage of fertilizers and recirculation water and it is 100% resistant against UV-radiation. We give a 15-year linear warranty on the Delaflex."
The use of corrugated plate silos is a perfect and affordable way to store a lot of m3 water on a small surface. This resulted in an increasing demand for higher silos in recent years. The demand is certainly caused by the changing climate with requires careful storage of water worldwide.
Bas: "That growth can also be seen in the figures. The number of orders increased with 100% last year. And now, in October, there have been as many orders as in the whole of 2018. The orders for water silos and water basins are coming from all over the world"
