Atlas of Native Orchids in China published

The Atlas of Native Orchids in China (edited by Jin Xiaohua, Li Jianwu and Ye Deping) has been officially published and released on December 23.  

With two volumes, the book is a definitive illustrated work on Chinese native orchids. It introduces a total of 157 genera, 1026 species and 4 new records of Chinese wild orchids with detailed description of characteristics, phenology, habitat, altitude, and endangered category, with 1-5 stunningly beautiful photographs and a distribution map for each species. 

Key for species identification of orchids is also available in the book. For the revised species, a reference in the Flora of China is available. 

“To our knowledge, this book is an atlas of the most orchid species in China up to now. It is a book integrative of scientific research and knowledge popularization’’, said Mr. LI Jianwu, a botanist at the Herbarium of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG).
