The Which Plant Where program is a five-year research program to investigate how well current landscaping species will cope under the more extreme climates that Australia’s cities will face and investigate opportunities for new species and varieties for the urban context.
For growers this research is important to understand how plants will perform in different growing and climatic regions in Australia and how they will perform in an urban landscape. Understanding this information will support your business planning, growing palette and schedules and help you manage future production risks.
For retailers and plant specifiers, including landscape contractors, designers and architects the research will help inform buying decisions, plant recommendations, landscape designs, urban tree selections and more.
The Which Plant Where? project is on a mission to provide greenlife growers and practitioners with the tools and resources to create sustainable and resilient landscapes under a changing climate. To help achieve this goal, the project team will be integrating scientific research with industry knowledge/experience to develop an online plant selector tool.
