It was snowing and freezing outdoors, but flowers were blooming indoors. In Gongli village. On December 30, 2019, the orchid exhibition of the Gongli village, Anbang Township, Jianshan District opened. In the winter, it brings a “spring” to the public. Outside the glass smart greenhouse in Anbang Ecological Park, there are well-designed ice sculptures, ice slides, and other ice scenes but indoors there are over 20,000 flowers, and the comparison between winter and spring forms the unique charm of this orchid exhibition.
It is understood that Anbang Township, Jianshan District has been focusing on developing and expanding the economy of the village and actively building agricultural industry projects, and Anbang Township Gongli Village uses the advantages of suburban tourism to create rural tourism-the Huahai Project. The "sea of flowers" in summer and winter each year makes people enjoy different beautiful sceneries.
Since the cooperation between Jianshan District and the Horticultural Branch of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2017, the Horticultural Branch of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences has given great support to flower cultivation techniques in the Gongli village. Experts not only provide detailed technical guidance but also designed and guided the overall layout of the flower exhibition. In the flower exhibition hall, hundreds of flowers, such as azalea, anthurium, maidenhair fern, and pineapple, are blooming. Among them, hundreds of cyclamens are gorgeous and unique. Tan Wei, director of the Flower Research Office of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, told reporters: "They are introduced from France. There are 7 varieties of cyclamen on the show today. The market price is 20 RMB per pot. We selected more than 10 varieties that are suitable for planting in the area. Besides, we made a comprehensive design for the exhibition and matched all the varieties of flowers. "
On the opening day of the exhibition, the scenery was very fabulous. For example, there were 11 varieties of Dendrobium and 9 varieties of Clivia, which gave the citizens a great impression and enjoyment of flowers. The red dried flowers for the decorative purpose can heighten the festive atmosphere of the New Year. It is understood that it is dyed from the Salix argyracea and is very ornamental. At present, the market price can be sold for 2 RMB per branch. "Because of the influence of climate, geographical environment, and other factors, the flower industry in northern China lags behind in the development of the south.” Tan Wei said.
In the orchid-themed exhibition hall, the reporter saw the real protagonist of the exhibition——the orchid. More than 10,000 phalaenopsis orchids of more than 30 varieties had different colors and were combined variously to show the best display effects.
Luan Liang, deputy director of Gongli Village, said: "In order to further strengthen the village's economy, we started preparations in October this year and went to Shandong to investigate and purchase flower seedlings. After careful cultivation, with the blooming flowers, we held the first orchid exhibition. Back in the winter of 2018, the greenhouse for the flowerbed base was idle. After being taken over by the village in 2019, we revitalized the idle resources and improved the economic income of the village. "
Not only enrich the orchid exhibition but also drive the sales of surrounding specialty agricultural products. On the first day of the Exhibition, lots of special agricultural products from various villages in Anbang Township were also concentrated in the exhibition, attracting the attention of citizens.
