Technological innovation for intensive greenhouse production

In March 2020, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ-CIHEAM) and Fundación CAJAMAR will host an advanced course on technological innovation for intensive greenhouse production in Almeria (Spain).

In a context of steadily increasing greenhouse production, technological innovations can contribute to preserve yields, improve product quality, control energy consumption and reduce the ecological footprint. Providing an applied approach, the course offers an insight on the latest developments on IPDM programmes through in-class training, technical visits and practical work. Participants learn about plant-climate interactions, innovative systems and technologies, advantages and limitations of this technology in different conditions as well as how future trends in digital technology and new greenhouse conceptions can contribute to a more efficient and sustainable production and to extend economic production to less favourable locations. Besides, the course is an opportunity to meet and work with professionals from all over the world and share hands-on experience on intensive greenhouse production with top experts.

  • Dates: 9 to 13 March 2020.
  • Venue: Fundación CAJAMAR, Almería (Spain)
  • Organizers: IAMZ-CIHEAM and Fundación CAJAMAR
