Show Your Colours Award IPM 2020 for Adenium obesum 'Fairy Tree Concept'

Adenium obesum 'Fairy Tree Concept' from Plantal Producciones S.L. based in El Ejido, Almeria (ES) was awarded the Show Your Colours Award IPM 2020 during the IPM 2020 in Essen on Thursday 30 January. The combination of the plant with the painting makes every plant within this concept unique. This product is the next level of storytelling with a niche product, according to the professional jury, which awarded the prize together with a public jury. The prize was presented to Lars van Steekelenburg by Eva Keller on behalf of the IPM organisation, in the BIZZ Holland stand.

Van Steekelenburg views the award as a dream come true. "Sow your dreams and let them grow! This prize will allow us to gain a position in the market," says the proud winner.

Second and third place
Second place went to Camellia japonica 'Festival', which was submitted by Van Son & Koot (NL). Rhododendron Happydendron Pushy Purple ('Hachmagic'), submitted by Inkarho GmbH (DE), finished in third place. The other plants nominated included Buddleja davidii Berries and Cream ('Pmoore14'), Concept Urban Garden Roses, Fargesia Moontears ('JAN W3M'), Hydrangea macrophylla Endless Summer Love ('Bailmacfive'), Hydrangea paniculata Switch Ophelia ('Breg14'), Skimmia japonica 'Perosa' and Taxus media Rising Star ('Oene').

Judging
The plants and concepts nominated were exhibited in the BIZZ Holland stand in Hall 8 at the trade fair. The visitors had until Thursday morning to vote for their favourite plant/concept using special coins. A professional jury consisting of Linda Hoogendoorn – Veelenturf, director of Stichting Varb, Sytse Berends, Blunt Communicatieadvies, Oliver Mathys, “I green you”, Andreas Henk trade journalist Gabot – Das Gartenbau Portal and Remy Steijger from Captains (mystery guest), judged the entries on Thursday afternoon. The jury's verdict and the votes cast using coins resulted in the Show Your Colours Award IPM 2020 going to Adenium obesum 'Fairy Tree Concept'.

The Show Your Colours Award IPM 2020 is a collaboration between trade fair organisation IPM and BIZZ Communications.
